Clubs and Societies in the Primary School
There is a wide variety of clubs and extra-curricular activities and events each term. These take place during lunchtime and after school.
The children join a club at the beginning of each term and club membership is regarded as a commitment. Each term there is some variation in the clubs available and we ask that the new clubs timetable be scrutinised accordingly. Club membership may change in consultation with the staff concerned.
School Council
Each term two representatives from each class are elected to be School Councillors. The Macleod House School Council meets twice each term.

Educational visits
Educational visits play a vital role in the education of pupils and support their experiential learning. They offer opportunities to learn about our natural world, our community and the communities of others as well as our cultural heritage. They also enable pupils to develop new skills and interests.
Day visits support class work in the arts, science and humanities. Parents may be asked to accompany these outings with their child’s class provided that the parent has a valid enhanced Criminal Records Bureau (CRB) Check. Advance notice is given through the calendar on the Parent Portal. Cultural visits to the theatre, musical concerts and dance performances are arranged annually. Residential visits at approved centres form the basis of the humanities project curriculum for Prep 4 to 6 in the Summer Term. All other pupils experience day visits to different localities in order to support their work in science and humanities.
All visits are assessed for risk and the Bursar and Headmistress receive copies of these assessments.
