House Music Competition 2023
Entirely pupil-led, this year’s House Music Competition was a triumphant success.
Teams from each house performed a Classical, Popular and Choral entry, with the ‘Choral’ seeing the whole house singing together.
The afternoon got off to a flying start with Montefiore’s rendition of Florence and the Machine's 'Dog Days are Over', while Paget's classical interpretation of Coldplay's 'Viva la Vida' was another highlight and included some lovely violin playing.
The House Choral entries were performed with great aplomb, with fantastic performances of One Direction, American Authors, ABBA and Jessie J. The whole school were then treated to two fabulous solos from pupils Zephany (S10) and Tasos (S11) whilst the adjudication took place.
After much deliberation, our adjudicator, Mr Fairbairn crowned Montefiore as overall House Music champions for 2023. Congratulations to Ms Bennett (Head of House for Montefiore) and all Montefiore pupils for a fine all-round performance! A special mention to Bearley House for their House Choral victory. Our thanks must also go to Mr Fairbairn for adjudicating so superbly.
