One of the hardest things a parent has to do is hand over their precious child to the care of others. At IPS, we understand that we as teachers play a pivotal role in each pupil’s childhood. Pastoral care is therefore central to all we do both inside and outside the classroom. Our staff know the pupils extremely well; they know their strengths and their foibles, their friendships and fears – and whether they like broccoli or peas.
All our staff are trained in Child Protection and First Aid. They are experts at listening to worries and concerns, however big or small, and they expect the same good manners and behaviour as you would expect at home.
The School Nurse
The School Nurse is present during School hours and is based in the Medical Suite. In the event of an emergency, parents or carers will be contacted immediately but the nurse will accompany a pupil to hospital if parents cannot be contacted.
