In line with HM Government's directive announced by the Prime Minister on Wednesday 18 March, the School on Clarence Lane has temporarily closed in order to help contain the spread of coronavirus (COVID-19). We shall look forward, however, to continuing our on-site provision for the children of workers in the Government’s critical sectors.
For all other pupils, we have activated contingency plans which will enable distance learning throughout the period of School closure. We shall remain in contact with pupils and parents to support them in whatever ways we can.
The parents of Prep School pupils are requested to refer to correspondence from Miss Bevan regarding arrangements for online activities and teaching from Monday 23 March. We look forward to welcoming pupils to ‘IPS online’.
We apologise for the disruption to our pupils’ education. We look forward to having greater clarity in due course and further information about when School might re-open.
Our thoughts are with all those affected by the current crisis.
We aim to develop pupils' naturally inquisitive minds, the self-confidence to think for themselves and the determination to pursue excellence in all they do.About Us

“Slap bang in the centre of the site, the Prep School feels like a school in its own right, think parents. Pre-Prep, which runs reception to year 1 (gentler transition through EYFS) and Prep (years 2 to 6) have school within a school – smart, well equipped classroom blocks, library, art and ICT space and playground.”Good Schools Guide 2017
“All this requires – and gets - quality teaching. Old cynics have gone, say parents. In their place, younger enthusiasts (many in 20s) raved about by parents, inspectors, and pupils. ‘Almost exclusively exceptional,’ said one prep parent.”Good Schools Guide 2017
