Co-Curricular Activities

With over 100 clubs and societies for pupils to choose from and options changing from term to term, pupils can try out new activities, make friends across year groups and discover talents they never knew they had.

Whether it’s only for a term or ends up leading to a lifelong passion, School is the perfect time to explore and simply ‘have a go’.

We are particularly proud of those clubs and societies that are set up and run by the pupils themselves. These include our award-winning student magazine 'The Wall', and ‘The Slightly Scientific Podcast’, recorded and edited in our state-of-the-art Innovation Centre.

In addition to all the Clubs on offer, Senior School subject clinics are available for pupils who wish consolidate or receive help, with the academic curriculum.

Our clubs and societies change every term but take a look at the types of activities on offer below.

Duke of Edinburgh Award

An adventure from start to finish, pupils make incredible memories, from trying new hobbies and volunteering in the community to camping under glaciers and alongside mountain streams.

We are proud to offer the DofE award programme at Bronze, Silver and Gold levels and we see a fantastic take-up at all levels amongst pupils from Senior 10 through to Sixth Form.

There are four sections to complete at Bronze and Silver level and five at Gold. They involve helping the community/environment, becoming fitter, developing new skills, planning, training for and completing an expedition and, for Gold only, working with a team on a residential activity.

The award is not competitive. Instead, it places great emphasis on personal development through working individually and as part of a team towards a challenging goal.

The Award encourages pupils to develop skills that are complementary to those they develop in School. Doing the ‘DofE’ allows pupils to thrive as mature, empathetic and engaged citizens. Most of all, it allows them to make friends and to have fun.

Ibstock Festival

Senior pupils at the school bake off competition at Ibstock Place School, a private school near Richmond, Barnes, Putney, Kingston, and Wandsworth

The annual Ibstock Festival takes place over two weeks in the summer term and brings together an exciting programme of talks, trips, workshops, sports activities, and performances, both on and off site.

It is a wonderful opportunity to extend learning beyond the classroom, have fun with friends and try something new.

From paintballing and pottery to ‘The Great Ibstock Bake-Off’ and ‘It’s a Knockout’, there’s something for everyone.

Other popular events such as our annual Club Fair in the Orchard or our termly ‘Try It’ Week are designed to help pupils discover new activities and step outside their comfort zones.
