House Music Competition
This year’s House Music Competition was a joyful afternoon of music, teamwork, and House pride at its best!
Our adjudicator, Miss Darcey Wynter, Director of Music at Putney High School for Girls, praised the high standard of performances and the fun, lively atmosphere in the Sports Hall. From the Spice Girls to John Williams, the event covered an amazing range of musical styles. Paget House won the Classical category with a beautiful performance led by Matthew (Upper Sixth Form), featuring harp and wordless chorus. Findlay House took first place in the Pop category with a slick version of ‘Signed, Sealed, Delivered’ complete with a cappella harmonies and funky grooves.
Every pupil joined in for the House Song round, filling the hall with Livin’ on a Prayer, Don’t Stop Believin’, Wannabe, and Don’t Stop Me Now. Montefiore came out on top here with their energetic Queen performance! When all the points were added up, Findlay House were crowned overall winners—well done to them! Special mention to Matheus (Upper Sixth Form) for his amazing blues guitar improvisation.
