Prep 6 Residential Trip 2026
Having received rapturous acclaim for their amazing production of 'Wizard of Oz Jr.', Prep 6 were in need of a restorative and energising retreat
And so, on Tuesday morning Prep 6 assembled, packed with sleeping bags, cameras and a hope for adventure, their destination the Jurassic Coast.
After an uneventful journey we arrived at our base for the next 3 days. Excitement was high as we split off into our different groups and got stuck into what our camp had to offer. Up climbed P6 to jump off the Trapeze, to the furthest corners of the camp they went off orienteering before ending the evening with 'balloon splat'.
Wednesday arrived, shrouded in fog, but the damp sea air did little to dampen our spirits as the pupils had another action packed day full of climbing up, abseiling down, archery and a geographical treasure hunt!
Waking to a chant of "football's coming home", we set off for the site of the 2012 Olympics sailing venue. We were off raft building. Four groups lashed together scaffolding, barrels and rope to create seaworthy crafts and were launched into the harbour. The pupils' shipbuilding was put to the test and they passed with flying colours as all 4 ships returned to port intact and still floating! Our day was rounded off with the sun breaking through the clouds and the year coming together for marshmallows and songs round the campfire.
It has been a busy but brilliant residential and lots of fun for the pupils who thoroughly deserve it after such an impressive effort this term and year.
